Zenith S58 Diver

Extremely rare diving watch - unpolished case - Bakelite bezel

Description
The reference S58 was the first diving watch from Zenith, which appeared in 1958 on the market. The "S" stands for "super water resistant" and refers to the water resistance of over 150 meters - an above-average value for this time.

This particular model is the extremely rare third version of the S58 with automatic movement. It is reported that only 1000 units were produced by Zenith.

The watch has a great overall condition. The legible white-gray dial has the Zenith star at 12 o'clock, a date window at 3 o'clock and the S.58 logo at 6 o'clock. The original lume material in the steel hour markers, the "Dauphine" hands and in the bezel is evenly aged and has a brownish patina. The lume in the second hand is no longer present. A lume part inside the minute hand is missing. The rotatable black bakelite bezel is in mint condition. The case is unpolished, has sharp edges and shows minimal signs of natural wear. The engraving of the serial number between the lugs is still clearly visible. The caseback is signed with S.58. The automatic calibre 2542PC movement is in very good condition.

It is very difficult to find the extremely rare reference S58, especially in such a good condition.
