The exotic dial of this vintage Universal Genève Compax 885108 from the early 1970s never ceases to amaze watch lovers. This fascinating vintage wristwatch is powered by the legendary Valjoux 72 manual wind movement and is also extremely rare. Those are attributes that increase the collector's value of this exotic chronograph and make it a very sought-after vintage watch.

The reference 885108 offered here is the exotic sister of the famous UG model Nina Rindt and is therefore called "Blue Exotic Nina". The breathtaking dial has a black and blue surface, which is excellently preserved in this particular watch. The white subdials are also perfectly clean and have no flaws. The tritium lume is original in all elements and has never been repainted. The blue bakelite bezel is perfectly preserved.

One of the most important reasons why this Universal Genève Compax is so sought-after is its rarity. Today less than 20 examples of the Blue Nina are known. The serial numbers of all of these watches begin with "289". However, for many watches the serial number on the case back is no longer visible due to multiple polishing. The offered watch still has both numbers on the case back and they are clearly legible.

The stainless steel case of the Exotic Nina measures 36mm and has only slight signs of wear. The winding crown bears the UG logo and is correct for this model. The acrylic crystal is signed with the UG logo in the center, which speaks for the originality of the watch glass. These signed vintage UG acrylic crystals are no longer available today and are therefore extremely rare.

The movement of this watch is the mother of all chronograph movements: calibre Valjoux 72. This legend is known for its robustness and accuracy. We have carefully checked the movement of this Universal Genève Compax and it runs absolutely perfectly keeping precisely time.

Last but not least, this Compax is accompanied by an original leather strap from the 1970s. The strap shows the manufacturer's stamp "Universal Genève" inside. This is quite impressive, since those leather stamps disappear when the watch is worn regularly. There is also an original UG clasp.

This Universal Genève Compax 885108 is a first-class addition to any vintage watch collection.
