Heuer Autavia 2446 Second Execution

early second execution dial - dauphine hands - all original

This vintage Heuer Autavia 2446 dates from the early 1960s and features the rare second execution dial.

The very first Heuer Autavia had a screwed case with beveled lugs and the big subs dial with large sub-registers. The successor model retained the case of the first execution, but the dial design was changed. The second execution Autavia got smaller sub-dials. You can see a nicely preserved specimen of this chronograph here.

A highlight of the present watch is the original and absolutely clean vintage dial. Both the black matt surface and the white sub-dials are immaculately preserved and have a beautiful natural patina. The tritium lume is 100% original and completely intact in all hour markers. The Dauphine hands also have original, non-repainted tritium. Even the luminous triangle on the bezel at 12 o'clock is intact and original.

The case of this Heuer Autavia shows natural signs of wear and has intact edges. The rotating bezel is beautifully faded to a gray color. The natural signs of aging are evenly distributed and create an honest and beautiful vintage look. Since this is a very early version of the Autavia, the winding crown correctly is not signed with the Heuer logo. The watch is powered by the legendary manual-wound caliber Valjoux 72, which operates flawlessly.

This Heuer Autavia has a stunning vintage look and is a valuable collector's item due to its rarity and condition.
