Description
This vintage Heuer Autavia 2446 dates back to the 1960s and features a rare "Second Execution" dial.

The very first Heuer Autavia had a screw-down case with beveled lugs and the so-called Big-Subs dial with large sub-registers. While the case shape of the successor model remained unchanged, the dial got smaller sub-registers. Today, this version is called "Second Execution" and here you can see a 100% original and authentic example of this highly collectible vintage chronograph.

The highlight of this racing chronograph is the original and perfectly preserved three-register dial. The hands have the popular dauphine shape. The rotating 12-hour bezel shows signs of wear. Of course, you could replace the bezel with one in better condition. However, we would not recommend that, because this bezel is 100% original, including the old luminous triangle at 12 o'clock. It reflects the 60-year history of this chronograph and gives the watch an honest vintage look.

As this is a very early version of the Autavia, the winding crown correctly bears no Heuer logo. The watch is powered by the legendary and collectors' favorite manual winding caliber Valjoux 72.

Condition report.
Dial: black matte finish is immaculately preserved - white subdials have a light patina - tritium lume is 100% original and completely intact in all hour markers - the dauphine hands also have original tritium that has not been repainted.

Bezel: used condition - 100% original - the luminous triangle on the bezel at 12 o'clock is original and intact.

Case: unpolished with natural wear - beveled lugs with perfect chamfers and crisp edges - intact serial number between lugs - correct unsigned winding crown.

Movement: manual winding caliber Valjoux 72 in perfect condition.
