Description
This spectacular vintage Rolex Day-Date 1803, featuring a striking coral Stella dial, was originally sold in Munich in 1970. Accompanied by its original box and papers, this timepiece is a true collector's treasure.

The coral dial is among the rarest and most coveted Stella dials. Its vibrant look exudes a unique individuality immediately drawing the eye and captivating the viewer. Remarkably well-preserved, the dial displays fine hairlines — a hallmark of its enameled surface that underscores its authenticity and vintage charm. These subtle details enhance the desirability of this watch, making it a standout piece for collectors.

The warm lustre of the gold Oyster case and the classic fluted bezel complement the dial perfectly imbuing the watch with unparalleled brilliance. Worn on the original 18k yellow gold President bracelet, stamped 2/70, it epitomises class and luxury. The set also includes an additional leather strap with an original Rolex gold-plated clasp, offering versatile styling options.

This Day-Date is accompanied by its original Rolex box, booklet, chronometer certificate with a punched serial number and a guarantee certificate, which is filled in and also punched. Together, these items narrate the rich history of this timepiece, which began in Munich on July 31, 1970, when it was sold to a discerning watch enthusiast from Bavaria.

Widely regarded as Rolex's most prestigious model, the Day-Date has earned the honorary nickname "The President’s Watch", a symbol of power and influence associated with the world's most iconic personalities. This extraordinary piece, featuring a rare Stella dial, complete original accessories, and a captivating history, is a true gem for collectors seeking something both rare and special.

About Rolex Stella dials
In the 1970s, Rolex began to equip some Day-Date models with colourful, lacquered enamel dials, which were referred to as "Lacquered Stella" in the catalogues of the time. These dials were produced in limited numbers and were originally intended primarily for the Middle Eastern market. Their vivid, high-gloss finish offered a bold contrast to the otherwise timeless and elegant 36 mm Day-Date, creating a truly unique aesthetic.

Interestingly, the Rolex Stella models were not highly sought-after during their initial release. Over time, however - similar to other once-overlooked Rolex models like vintage Daytonas - Stella dials have become some of the most coveted vintage Rolex watches. Finding one in excellent original condition is increasingly rare, adding to their allure among collectors.
