None other than the music legend Eric Clapton was a proud owner of the Universal Genève Tri-Compax Reference 881101/01. Today this watch named after it's famous wearer has also become a legend. Just the very sight of the "Eric Clapton" would stir the blood of a watch lover. Panda dial, red weekday and month, red chrono hand, twisted lugs - a stunning design, which has been definitely ahead of its times. The range of complications this watch offers is remarkable: moonphase, chronograph, date, weekday, month, tachymeter scale. That's horological art to retain such a complex dial with so much informations still legible, clean and aesthetic. The "Clapton" passes this task with flying colors.
Our "Eric Clapton" has the later and thus rarer execution with red chronograph hand as well as red weekday and month. The original dial with "Swiss T" sign is in mint condition. Original lume in hands and hour indexes are still intact (tested with UV light). The case is unpolished. The reference and serial number are clearly legible on the caseback. Powered by the calibre 281, the Tri-Compax was the first chronograph with full calendar. Excellent running condition, keeping good time. All functions have been checked by our expert. Everything works flawless.
Universal Genève Tri-Compax Reference 881101-01 is a role model with a compelling design and certainly deserves the reputation of the watch collectors, which has always been increasing over the past few years.
Additionally our chronograph is accompanied by the original Universal Genève stainless steel bracelet.
Interesting hint: This model will be published in the book "FERO, 150 steel chronographs", which coming soon.
