Omega Seamaster 300 165.024-63

Rare model - Unpolished - Extract of the Archives

Description
The Omega Seamaster was launched in the year of the 100th anniversary of Omega in 1948. It was first made for the British military at the end of the Second World War. The watch should be very robust but still elegant and operational above and under water. Back in 1955 Gordon McLean was the first diver to reach a depth of 62.5 metres in Australia. This was the first diving record for a Omega Seamaster. The Seamaster 300 was the beginning of the modern dive watches at Omega. It was equipped with a rotating ring, but also with a double crown seal and a glass that was three times as thick as normal glass. Thus, the Omega Seamaster 300 withstood the maximum pressure at that time of 20 bar.

Here we have a beautiful example of a Vintage Omega Seamaster 300 from 1965. The stainless steel case with the 100% original Omega crown is in excellent condition, unpolished and shows sharp edges. The bezel is in perfect condition and rotates easily in both directions. The dial in mint condition with black luminous indexes. Omega Seamaster 300 with dauphine hands exist, but they were only released in Italy and very hard to find nowadays. This dial has a central sweep-second hand a „thin arrow" minute hand a "dauphine" hour hand which makes it very special. The watch is powered by the automatic movement calibre 552.

If you are looking for a rare, elegant and robust vintage watch this Omega Seamaster 300 is definitely a good choice.
