Description
Vetta’s story began not as Vetta, but as Wyler. The company was found in 1896 by Paul Wyler in Switzerland. The story of Vetta began in the early 1930’s as Wyler wanted to sell their watches in Italy. Lucio Binda, an Italian distributor released the watches in Italy under the new name of “Wyler Vetta”. Back in the time Vetta and Wyler were famous for their brilliant marketing. The two brands succeeded the biggest marketing coup in 1956, when two watches were dropped from the Eiffel Tower and continued to work.

The Diver watch offered here is from the 1960s and has an outstanding Tropical dial. This dial color is not seen very often on the vintage market. With different lighting conditions the dial shows several brownish colors. The “Cappuccino" dial with beautiful patina leaves an unforgettable impression and is very sought after by collectors. The 100% original lume has not been relumed and is still intact in the markers and numerals and hands and shines under UV light. The overall condition of this particular watch is excellent for this age. The case is absolutely unpolished and honest. The inner-rotting bezel works flawlessly. The engravings on the screwed caseback are very clearly visible and represent the features of the watch. This watch is powered by the 21 jewels, self-winding movement calibre Vetta 680 (AS 1680).
