Description
In the late 1960s, Hamilton, Heuer and Breitling created an automatic chronograph movement. This secret partnership became the code name "Project 99". With Zenith and Seiko, Project 99 had two very eager and renowned competitors. That's how the famous race came about that was supposed to answer the question of all questions: who made the first automatic chronograph? But until today, the watch experts are not 100% sure which movement was first on the market. Was it the Zenith El Primero movement, the Seiko caliber 6139 or the Caliber 11 of Project 99? One thing's for sure: each of these movements was an extraordinary engineering achievement. Watch models with these movements, such as the legendary Heuer Monaco, Heuer Autavia, Heuer Carrera, Rolex Zenith Daytona, Zenith A386, just to name a few, are today among the most sought after collector's watches worldwide.

The Hamilton Pan-Europ 707 is one of them. The 707 offered here is extremely rare and differs from the "simpler" Pan-Europ 703 by the additional GMT function. The yellow GMT hand and the blue 24-hour bezel indicate the time in a different time zone. And as if that wasn't enough, there are the tachymeter scale on the inner bezel and the circular date aperture at 6 o'clock.

The condition of this watch can be described very simply: 100% original and mint or even NOS. Perfect case, immaculate dial, hands, bezel, lume, crown, pushers - all original and in mint condition. The automatic caliber 11 Chrono-Matic is also in outstanding condition and runs perfectly and strong in all functions. The watch comes on its original Hamilton stainless steel bracelet which is in almost NOS condition as well.

The historical significance, the range of functions and the cool look make this Hamilton Pan-Europ 707 an ultimate collector's timepiece.
