Description
The racing icon Heuer Monaco was named after the impressive race track in Monaco on the Côte d'Azur. When Hollywood legend Steve McQueen wore the Heuer Monaco in the movie "Le Mans", the racing icon has become the fashion icon. Today, examples in good condition are very rare and the demand far exceeds the supply.

This particular "Transitional" variant of the reference 1133 is even rarer than most other Monacos. The very first model of the Monaco, the so-called "Chronomatic", was available in 1969 only for a few months. When Heuer sold the name "Chronomatic" to Breitling, the label had to be removed and a model was created that is today referred to as "Transitional". Thereafter the Monaco logo appeared above the Heuer logo and "Automatic Chronograph" at 6 o'clock above the date. Like the Chronomatic variant, the dial has a beautiful glossy metallic blue color and the steel hands are rectangular. The watch is ticking with the coveted calibre 11.

Also the "Transitional" variant was only a few months in production before the 1133B models with matte dial were available in early 1970. It is extremely rare to find the "Transitional" Monaco 1133 with a good dial, much less with an unpolished case. The Monaco offered here fullfills these both criteria. In addition the watch comes with a rare original MK1 Heuer steel bracelet in excellent condition.

Make sure you get this Monaco in an extremely rare execution and excellent condition.
