Description
The special feature of this Heuer Carrera 2447 N is the early serial number. This gives it the nickname "Early". In addition, it has a very rare radium dial and an unpolished case, which makes the watch an absolute rarity.

This early 1st Execution Carrera with "Swiss-only" dial is an ultimate collector's watch. Only the very first versions of the Carrera had the lettering "SWISS" without the "T", since the lume was not made of tritium but of radium. The Geiger counter analysis shows (see pictures) that the radium is original on this watch. Also note the original unsigned crown, like the earliest models had them. An unpolished case and perfect black dial speak for themselves. The coveted Valjoux 72 movement runs flawlessly.

Hodinkee has published a very interesting article about the "Early" Carrera.

Serial number: 53XXX (ca. 1963)

Int.Exe.: 2305040

What customers want to know ...
What makes this Heuer Carrera so special?
Franz Roman:
"I have only seen three "Early" Carreras in the last 10 years. When I heared about this watch in the summer of 2017, it was hard to believe that an "Early" Carrera in unpolished perfect original condition has survived to this day. Considering that only a handful of "Early" Carreras are known, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy an unpolished one. Before I knew the price, I already told the owner that I would buy this watch assuming it was really in that condition. To my knowledge, no other "Early" Carrera is currently offered on the world market. The last publicly offered "Early" Carrera was sold at the Phillips Auction in November 2017. For me, this Carrera together with the first Autavia is the historically most important watch of Heuer."

Who is this watch for?
Franz Roman:
"For a Heuer collector with attention to detail. By that I mean for example the radium dial without "T" letter or the early serial number. But of course I also see this watch as an excellent investment, considering that similar details in watches from Rolex or Patek Philippe cause stratospheric prices."
