Patek Philippe Calatrava 570 Jumbo

oversized case - 18k yellow gold - fine and elegant watch

This vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava 570 Jumbo in 18k yellow gold from 1963 combines precision and prestige. Named after the emblematic cross that defines Patek Philippe, the Calatrava is probably the most famous and elegant watch by Patek Philippe. The reference 570 was first introduced in 1938. Its big case with 35mm diameter was unusual for this era. Today the oversized Calatrava is very popular because of its size.

The watch offered here is over 55 years old and has been fantastically preserved. According to the accompanied Patek Philippe archive extract, this watch was produced in 1963 and sold on October 8, 1964. The solid 18k yellow gold case is in great condition, unpolished and has sharp edges. There are some traces of oxidation, which indicates that the watch was stored for a long time and has rarely been worn. The golden dauphine hands and the gold hour markers on the beautiful cream-colored dial ensure a simple and elegant overall impression. The dial is in very good condition. The flat golden bezel makes this Calatrava look even bigger. The movement of this Calatrava is the manual wind caliber 27SC. It is stamped with the Geneva Quality Mark and runs flawlessly. The case back is snapped on.

This Calatrava reference 570 is a very fine example of a famous, elegant Patek Philippe watch.
