Description
Vintage look is cool. This is proven by this 1969 diver's chronograph Zenith A277. The faded bezel and the reverse panda dial are pure vintage and look amazing. The reference A277 is one of Zenith's last manual-wound watches before the El Primero was launched in the late 1960s.

The Zenith A277 features a beautiful reverse panda dial with large, white sub-dials on the matte black surface. The dial is absolutely flawless, which is a very rare thing for this reference. The silver Zenith logo is at 12 o'clock. "SWISS MADE T" at 6 o'clock. The tritium lume has a fresh, greenish tone, which is absolutely equal in hour indices and hands.

The stainless-steel case of this reference A277 is crisp with the bevels on the lugs still thick. The case appears unpolished as the serial number is still clearly legible on the case back. This is actually a rare feature. The most examples of the Zenith A277 have been polished several times over the years, which made the engraved serial number disappear from the case back.

The faded bezel makes this watch look real vintage. It has no scratches and the original pearl is attached at 12 o'clock. The white chronograph second hand is also called "paddle hand" because of its shape. The screw-down case back and the crown are signed with the NATO star.

This Zenith is equipped with the original Gay Frères ladder bracelet. It has the correct "ZF" end links and is in a great condition. These bracelets are very rare nowadays. The "ZENITH" signed clasp is stamped inside with 4/69 (4th quarter 1969). The extension link of the bracelet is signed "pat. pend" (patent pending).

The high-quality Zenith movement caliber 146 HP has been checked and runs flawlessly in all functions.

It is really difficult to find the Zenith A277 Diver in a "collector's quality". Most of them have been worn regularly over the years. The condition of the Zenith offered here makes it very rare and exceptional.
