Longines Diver Chronograph 7981-3 Big Eye

iconic watch - bordeaux bezel - perfect condition

Description
This Longines Diver Chronograph 7981-3 from 1969 is the MK3 version of this legendary diver's watch. The oversized minute counter, inner tachymeter ring and flyback mechanism are some of the features that make this watch so special and interesting for collectors.

This particular watch stands out because of its excellent condition. The case is unpolished and has sharp edges. The black dial is absolutely immaculate and looks like new. Due to the oversized minute counter at 3 o'clock this Longines is also called "Big Eye". The luminous material in the hour markers matches the color in the hands and is fully intact. The red crosshair and the white tachymeter ring are other cool features that are admired by vintage lovers. The bordeaux bezel is in excellent condition and rotates in both directions. The movement is the caliber 530 by Longines. It has the flyback function, which back then was a specialty in wristwatches. The movement runs flawlessly in all functions.

The engraving on the caseback reveals a part of the long history of this Longines. The watch was presented in 1974 by Union Carbide to an employee for his 25-year company loyalty.

The Longines Diver Chronograph 7981 is one of the most sought-after vintage chronographs of the 1960s. But only the excellent condition makes this watch an ultimate collector's item.
