Description
The Universal Genève Polerouter Sub is one of the most legendary diver's watches of the renowned Swiss watch manufacturer. This model was available in different variations with different dials, hands and bezels. This classic specimen is the reference 869116/02 from the year 1967.

When you look closely, you will find a number of interesting design details that make this watch so attractive and popular.

Let's start with the case. It was designed by the famous designer Gérald Genta and has an asymmetrical shape. This gives the watch an extravagant look, but first and foremost, the asymmetric case provides better protection for the screw-down crown during diving. There are no signs of overpolishing. The reference and serial numbers are still visible on the screwed caseback, which is very rare as the most Vintage Universal Genève watches have been polished several times over the years. The crown is original and signed with the UG logo.

The black dial offers some attractive design elements too. For example, the "U" in the red "POLEROUTER SUB" inscription has a trident shape with a long middle arrow. The red horizontal line divides the dial into the upper and lower half. The date window at 3 o'clock is enlarged by a trapezoid magnifier on the acrylic glass. The hour markers have a unique design and intact, original luminous material. The tritium in the hands is original as well and matches the color in the hour markers. The surface of the dial is immaculate.

The black bezel is rotatable in both directions and is in excellent condition. The movement is the caliber 1-69 of Universal Genève. It has been checked and runs flawlessly.
