Rolex Submariner 5513 Box and Papers

"Meters First" dial - original box and papers - excellent condition

Description
This is a very rare "meters first" Rolex Submariner 5513 with box and papers in excellent condition. The first matte dials were produced in a short period between 1966 and 1969. They are called "meters first", since in the printed depth rating the depth in meters precedes the depth in feet ("200m = 660ft"). From ca. 1969, the depth in feet appeared in the first place, as Rolex presumably focused on the American market.

A special feature of this watch is the original, long-living tritium / zinc sulfide luminescent material, which was used in the early 1960s in the short transition period from radium to tritium. It shines until today. This phenomenon is documented and makes this dial and this watch very rare. Only a few pieces exist with tritium / zinc sulfide luminescent material. Our 5513 is equipped with a domed acrylic crystal. The case is sharp and authentic. The Rolex caliber 1520 runs flawlessly. The matching original Rolex Oysterband (Ref 7206, Endlink Ref. 80) is in great condition.

And last but not least: this Rolex Submariner comes with its original box and original papers from 1967. This piece is a high-quality addition to any watch collection.
