IWC Ocean Bund 3529 Box and Papers

military version - developed for the German Bundeswehr

Description
This IWC Ocean Bund 3529 is a special diver's watch designed by IWC for the German military, Bundeswehr.

Developer of the legendary sports car Porsche 911 Prof. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche and the Swiss watchmaker IWC entered into a cooperation and created diver's watches and named them "IWC Porsche Design Ocean". The first watches came in 1982 on the market. There were civilian and military versions. The latter were developed for the Bundeswehr (German military). The military series was called "Ocean Bund", of which there were three different variants: Waffentaucheruhr (weapon diver watch), Minentaucheruhr (mine diver watch) and Kampfschwimmeruhr (undersea diver watch) with a quartz movement.

This particular IWC Ocean Bund 3529 is a beautiful and very well preserved copy of the military weapon diver watch with an automatic movement. The watch carries the typical features of the military version, such as the engraving "Bund" on the caseback and a unique supply number of the Bundeswehr. Another distinguishing feature to the civilian version is the orange-red framed minute hand, which is white in the civilian version. In addition, the "Bund" version has a flat sapphire crystal - in contrast to the domed glass of the civilian models.

The offered IWC Ocean Bund has a great overall condition. Both the case and the dial have been very well preserved. The titanium bezel has no visible traces of wear. The dial has a clean matt black surface. The big yellow hour markers and the orange minute hand improve the readability of the watch. The dial shows at 12 o'clock white writing "IWC, International Watch Co., Schaffhausen" and at 6 o'clock "Porsche Design".

This IWC Ocean Bund 3529 is accompanied by the following accessories:
- original square paper box with IWC signature
- original square box made of hard, white synthetic material with IWC signature
- original service booklet
- original IWC warranty certificate
- international guarantee and certificate of origin

The watch is provided with a rare titanium bracelet, which had to be specially ordered back in the 1980s. As standard equipment, the watch came with a nylon velcro band. The movement of this IWC Ocean Bund is the IWC caliber 37521.

Among watch collectors the IWC Ocean Bund is a highly coveted timepiece due to its timeless design and significant history. The great condition and original accessories of the watch offered here make it a definitive collector's item.
