Description
The IWC Aquatimer 812 AD was the first diver's watch in the long history of the IWC manufactory.

This watch has no typical external bezel, but an inner bezel under the watchglass, which can be rotated with the upper crown. This unusual feature was intended to prevent unintentional adjustment of the bezel during the dive.

The dial has an absolutely perfect black surface and white markings. The clean design ensures a good readability and gives this Aquatimer a timeless and classic character. The original tritium lume in the hour markers and hands still shines under UV light. The date window is at 3 o'clock. The original acrylic crystal is domed. The stainless steel case measures 37 millimeters and is in perfect condition, especially considering the old age of the watch. On the case back you can see the nice submarine engraving.

The IWC Aquatimer 812 AD is powered by the automatic caliber 8541. The efficient movement is based on the development of Albert Pellaton and is still used by IWC. Vintage experts still consider it to be one of the best Swiss automatic movements. The watch has been checked and runs flawlessly.

A great addition to this vintage watch is the original stainless steel Gay Frères bracelet. Today these beautiful vintage bracelets are very rare and sought-after by collectors. The clasp is double signed, inside with "International Watch Co." and outside with "IWC".

This particular IWC Aquatimer 812 AD is undoubtedly one of the best specimens on the market. As the first diver watch made by IWC, this timepiece is an important part of the history of watchmaking and therefore a first-class collector's item.
