Eska is a small but high-quality Swiss watch brand founded in Grenchen (Switzerland) at the beginning of the 20th century. The brand name "Eska" is based on the initials of the founder Sylvan Kocher "eS-Ka". Eska was replaced by the brand "Royce" in the 1960s. The manufactory has produced a lot of lovely and elegant wristwatches, including the one offered here.
This Eska comes from the 1950s and has some eye-catching design details. The beautiful silver dial has a fluted ring in a darker color, which provides a great contrast overall. The hour markers show a nice diamond shape. At 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock, the lume dots are placed behind the large index. For the smaller indexes, the lume dots are positioned on the inner ring. We were able to detect radium in the dial, which proves the originality of the lume, since radium was allowed only until the mid-1960s. The beautiful dauphin hands complete the elegant design of this watch.
The 37mm stainless steel case has sharp edges and is in a great condition. Due to the smooth steel bezel, the watch appears larger on the wrist. The radial signature on the case back is "Incabloc - Waterproof - Antimagnetic". In addition, the brand name "Eska" and the serial number 13040 are engraved on the case back. This watch is powered by the manual wind movement from Ebauches SA (ETA), one of the largest Swiss movement manufacturers. It has been tested and runs flawlessly.
This Eska is a beautiful and elegant vintage watch made by a high quality Swiss manufacturer.
