The vintage chronograph Heuer Autavia 1163 Siffert dates back to the early 1970s and is a proud representative of the golden motorsport era. It is well known that the reference 1163 with panda dial and date window at 6 o'clock was worn by famous Formula 1 racing driver Jo Siffert and is today referred to as the Siffert Autavia.
6 different dial designs of the Siffert-Autavia are known. This watch has the latest MK6 dial variant with blue inserts and blue tips in the hands and the 1-through-12 hour recorder at 9 o'clock.
A beautifully preserved dial, a sharp case and a perfect tachymeter bezel make this vintage watch a truly rare find. The tritium luminescent in the hands and hour markers is of course original and has never been repainted. The chronograph is accompanied by a beautiful vintage beads-of-rice Gay Frères bracelet with a 4/71 signed clasp and HLF end links. Optionally, you can buy the watch with a leather strap for 1,000.00 € less.
The movement of this chronograph is the legendary Heuer automatic caliber 11 in its improved version, which is officially called Caliber 11i. It was rebuilt a short time later to the caliber 12. The case with these early movement has a small triangle mark under the lug (see pictures). All functions including the chronograph have been checked and run flawlessly.
On the wrist, this vintage watch gives a very attractive and sporty impression. Due to the excellent preserved condition, it is also a first-class collector's watch.
