Zenith El Primero A384 Tropical

SoldThe model name El Primero refers to the revolutionary automatic movement of Zenith, which was introduced in 1969. The El Primero was one of the first automatic chronographs with a very high frequency of 36.000 VPH. Because of its reliability, even Rolex installed the El Primero movement in its Daytona 16520 for a long 12 years. That's the reason why this Rolex model is called "Zenith Daytona".
The present example is the reference A384 of the El Primero with a tropical dial. The sub-dials and the integrated tachymeter ring were originally black. Over the years the dial evenly aged to this beautiful caramel color, providing a unique tropical character to that watch. Such discoloration is extremely rare, which enhances the attractiveness of this remarkable collector's item.
The tritium material on the entire dial is original and has a warm hue. The date window is between 4 and 5 o'clock, which is the trademark of El Primero. Overall, the dial is in great condition.
The shape of this El Primero reflects the retro style of the 70s. The case has been polished in the past and is free of scratches. The watch could preserve its thick profile. The winding crown and caseback are correctly signed with the NATO star.
The El Primero movement was checked by our watchmaker. The chronograph starts, stops and resets properly. This watch has a date quickset mechanism which works perfectly as well.
