There is probably no other wristwatch that offers a comparable quality for this relatively low price as the Rolex Air-King 14000. Here we offer you a specimen from 1990 with an original Rolex hologram on the case back.

The history of the Rolex Air-King begins in the 1940s, when Rolex presented the new "Air" line honoring the pilots of the British Royal Air Force. During and after the Second World War, these watches were produced exclusively for the pilots. The model Air-King had a 34mm case, which was considered very large back then, hence the name "King". In addition to the Air King, there were other models such as Air-Lion, the Air-Tiger and the Air-Giant. But the Air-King is the only model that has survived to this day.

The reference 14000 was introduced in 1989. And this particular watch is from 1990. The Rolex Air-King 14000 scores with its elegant, simple and unobtrusive design. Although it is the economical Rolex model, the quality and durability are very high as you would expect from Rolex. With the reference 14000, the Rolex Air-King was equipped with an improved Caliber 3000 movement, which provides high-precision timekeeping. It was also the first Air-King reference with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

The watch has the classic waterproof Oyster case with a diameter of 34mm. Compared with the 36mm case of the traditional Datejust, the Air-King seems to be smaller. But you hardly see a difference on the wrist. The balanced dial design and the smooth bezel provide a beautiful enlarged look.

This particular Air-King has been preserved in a beautiful condition. The original green Rolex hologram is still visible on the caseback and proves that this watch was rarely on the wrist. The beautiful silver dial is absolutely flawless. The high-quality Oyster bracelet provides a comfortable fit and has a minimal loss of tension. Bracelet reference is 78350, reference of the end pieces is 557B and the code of the clasp is P12.

The Rolex Air-King is very popular as an entry-level model but it is also a perfect daily watch for a sophisticated collector.
