The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was developed in the early 1970s and today this model is the epitome of the luxury sports watch. The design of this timepiece comes from the famous designer Gerald Genta, who also created the Patek Philippe Nautilus. The Royal Oak Reference 5402 is also referred to as "Jumbo". The name is due to the diameter of the watch (39mm), which was considered in the 1970s as above average size.
