IWC Ocean Bund is the military version of the IWC Ocean 2000, which was developed for the German Bundeswehr in the 1980s.
Here we offer the reference 3509 in a full set. The present IWC Ocean Bund features a rare 3H dial. A red circle with the inscription 3H in the upper right corner of the dial indicates the tritium luminescent used in the dial and in the bezel. The three-liner "IWC, International Watch Co., Schaffhausen" is offset to the left. The Ocean Bund has an orange minute hand and a flat sapphire crystal. The civil Ocean 2000 had a white minute hand and a domed watch glass instead. Other typical feature of the military version is the engraving "Bund" and a unique supply number of the Bundeswehr on the case back.
This watch is in a very good overall condition with few signs of usage. The matte black dial has original lume that has aged to a beautiful yellowish vintage color. The titanium bezel is rotatable in one direction, as is common in professional diving watches. The watch has a date quickset mechanism. The automatic movement of caliber 3752 runs flawlessly in all functions.
The full set of this Ocean Bund significantly increases its collector's value. Original square white box, titanium bracelet, nylon velcro strap, screwdriver, instruction manual, hangtag. The engraved numbers on the titanium band, velcro band and on the screwdriver are all correct.
The IWC Ocean Bund is a highly coveted timepiece today due to its timeless design and significant history. The great condition and the original accessories of this particular watch make it a definitive collector's item.
