Universal Genève Compax 885108 Exotic

box and archive - valjoux 72 - mint condition

As a vintage enthusiast, over the years you see so many extraordinary watch designs. But some watches stay in mind forever, like this rare and fine Universal Genève Compax 885108 Exotic.

The Universal Genève watches are gaining more and more attention. Vintage collectors now recognize how special and rare these watches are. There are several reasons, why these chronographs are becoming increasingly popular. On the one hand, UG watches stand out from the competition due to their unusual design. On the other hand, the similarity to the Rolex Chronograph Daytona in terms of case, size and movement ensures a high recognition value. Both vintage models are powered by the legendary Valjoux 72 movement. And last but not least, the rarity of the Universal Genève chronographs generates such a great interest. They are even harder to find than a vintage Rolex Daytona. It gets even more complicated if you want to find an exotic dial in good condition.

This brings us to this particular "Blue Exotic Nina" from 1971. This watch is the colorful sister of the famous model "Nina Rindt", hence the nickname. The serial numbers of all known examples start with the numerals 289, as well as with this particular watch. There are less than 20 pieces of the Blue Exotic known. Considering the mint condition of this particular watch, one realizes how unique this item is. The stunning dial is in perfect condition. Every single hour marker and all six hands have original and intact tritium lume.

Packed in a 36mm case with twisted lugs, the Blue Exotic is comfortable to wear. The reference and serial numbers can be read easily on the caseback. This tells us, that the watch has been never polished or if so, then very slightly. Thus, the original thick profile could be maintained. The blue bezel is free from any blemishes. The chronograph is powered by the legendary manual wind caliber Valjoux 72. This movement is known for its robust and accurate performance.

Another highlight of this offer is the original vintage bracelet by JB Champion with a UG logo on the clasp. Those bracelets are very rare.

The Universal Genève Compax is accompanied by the original box and an excerpt from the Universal Genève archive. This offer is a unique opportunity to acquire an extremely rare watch in a mint condition.
