Heuer Autavia 111.603 Olive Case

mint condition - military/olive case

Description
This 80's Heuer Autavia 111.603 has a PVD-coated case and is preserved in mint overall condition. The olive or military case color gives this Autavia a very unusual and stylish look.

The reference 111.603 is the last version of the Heuer Autavia before the company went bankrupt due to the quartz crisis. This Autavia uses case from the previous reference 11063, which explains the correct engraving between the lugs. In addition to the military/olive version, there was also a black, white and gold-plated case.

What makes this Autavia so special is its mint condition. PVD coatings are known to be susceptible and wear out relatively quickly after 20-30 years. That makes good specimens like this Autavia so rare. The case as well as the bracelet shows hardly any abrasion of the green PVD coating. Absolutely fantastic and remarkable case condition makes this watch so valuable. The dial and the green rotating bezel are also immaculately preserved.

The movement of this watch is the Heuer automatic caliber 12, which has been continuously improved since its introduction in 1969 (at that time it was the legendary caliber 11). The caliber 12 that is in this particular Heuer Autavia is considered the best and most reliable automatic movement by Heuer.

This Heuer Autavia 111.603 is a stylish wristwatch and one of the last representatives of the long history of Heuer watches.
