Description
This stunning Heuer Jarama 110.245 is one of the last great Heuer motor chronographs from 60s and 70s. That watch was produced in the last era of Heuer family ownership, when Jack Heuer controlled the company. Heuer Jarama is a sporting chronograph named after the Spanish Formula 1 race track. The last Grand Prix here was held in 1981 and won by Ferrari’s Gilles Villeneuve. It would turn out to be Villeneuve’s last victory.

The Jarama was only produced for a couple of years and in limited numbers making this model very rare. But not only the rarity, also the attractive design of this watch makes it so interesting and sought after among vintage collectors. The combination of a stainless-steel case and the gold-plated bezel provides a great look on the wrist. The case measures 38,5mm from 9 to 3. Thanks to beautiful cushion lugs it appears a little bigger on the wrist. The sub dials at 3 and 9 o'clock show a 30-minutes counter and a 12 hours totalizer. The Heuer Jarama has not only a tachymeter scale but also a pulsometer scale in the first quarter of the dial.

The offered example has been greatly preserved. We think this watch was seldom if ever refinished in its entire life span. None of the plated surfaces are showing wear through. The lines of the case are crisp and well defined. The crown is Heuer signed. The black dial is clear and simple. The dial has been preserved flawlessly. The hands match the indices. The tritium patina is even. Everything appears to be of the same age. The movement of that Heuer Jarama is the automatic micro-rotor Calibre 12, which is part of the pioneering and famous Calibre 11 family.

The watch has a distinct and beautiful two-tone bracelet made of stainless steel with yellow gold-plated links. The clasp offers an extensible system to individually adjust the bracelet to your wrist size. All the stampings are crisp and the original refinishing on the clasp is intact.

This vintage watch represents the golden age of Heuer chronographs and is very rare.
