Zenith Super Sub Sea A3635

striking look - rotating inner bezel

There are many reasons why we love vintage Zenith watches. One of them is the unusual design, which like no other inspires even an experienced watch collector again and again. That is also the case with this watch: a Zenith Super Sub Sea A3635. It's a rare vintage wristwatch from the 1970s with a striking and very harmonious look.

This Zenith was presented as a diver's watch in the 1970s and has the typical attributes of a professional diver's watch. Immediately before the dive, the diver aligns the lume triangle on the rotating inner bezel with the minute hand by rotating the bezel using the crown at 10 o'clock . The striking tip of the orange minute hand is by no means a design component. Rather, this hand had to be clearly visible underwater to make it easier to read the elapsed dive time. This Zenith diving watch demonstrates how function can influence aesthetics in the best possible way.

The reference A3635 has a beautiful gray stardust dial with a date window between 4 and 5 o'clock. The dial of this watch is perfectly preserved. The stardust finish has remained intact. Another highlight is the tritium lume, which has changed to a creamy color in the hands and hour markers.

The stainless steel case is excellently preserved and has a thick profile, which indicates that this watch was never or only very lightly polished. The watch measures 40mm in diameter and sits very comfortably on the wrist. This Zenith A3635 is powered by the in-house Zenith automatic caliber 2552PC. The movement is greatly preserved and keeps very good time.

This Zenith Super Sub Sea A3635 is a rare vintage piece and an excellent watch for everyday wear.
