This Longines Ref. 7413 is a flyback chronograph from 1968. Longines legendary 30CH caliber is one of the best chronograph movements of all time.
We owe the useful flyback chronograph to Longines. The "normal" chronograph must be stopped, reset and started. You lose a few seconds. The flyback complication allows the chronograph to be restarted immediately by pressing the lower pusher. Longines presented the 30CH flyback movement in 1947. The production spanned roughly 20 years, until the late 1960s, when Longines was taken over by Ebauches S.A. and stopped in-house production of movements.
This particular Longines Chrono dates from 1966 and was sold in 1968. The originality and the date of sale are confirmed by the official Longines archive. The 38mm stainless steel case has natural signs of wear and looks unpolished. The engravings on the case back are crisp. The silver sunburst dial has a red telemeter and a blue tachymeter scale. The sunburst finish has remained intact until today. The two subdials show the small second at 9 o'clock and the minute counter at 3 o'clock. The winding crown is original and bears the Longines logo. We have tested the lume with UV light: it is the old and original tritium. Overall, this vintage wristwatch has a classic and elegant appearance and looks very fine on the wrist.
This Longines 7413 combines elegance and mechanical excellence. The Flyback Chrono is a beautiful and proud representative of the golden era of Longines.
