Eterna Chrono 154 FTP

Valjoux 72 - extravagant dial - burgundy bezel

This Eterna chronograph dates from 1968 and has an impressive look thanks to the extravagant dial design and the burgundy bezel. The chronograph is powered by the famous manual calibre Valjoux 72.

The history of the Swiss watch brand Eterna begins in 1856 when the company was founded by Josef Girard and Urs Schild in Grenchen. This makes Eterna one of the oldest swiss watchmakers that still exists today. Eterna is known for its high quality and attractively designed timepieces.

Here you see an Eterna Chrono Ref. 154FTP from the late 1960s. This chronograph owes its impressive look to the beautiful three-register dial and to the burgundy bezel. The two subdials at 9 and 3 o'clock have an additional inner ring. The ring of the 30-minute counter is divided into black and blue sections. The 12-hour counter is at 6 o'clock. The entire dial is absolutely flawless and clean.

The burgundy rotating bezel is free of any scratches. The stainless steel case has a beautiful pillow shape and was able to keep its sharp edges to this day, despite its age. The case back steel bears the deeply engraved serial number.

The heart of this watch is the Valjoux 72 manual-wound caliber - the mother of all chronograph movements. Valjoux 72 is an extremely reliable and robust movement. Not for nothing the most famous chronograph Rolex Daytona was powered by Valjoux 72.

This Eterna chronograph scores with excellent condition, attractive design and of course with reliable mechanics of the famous Valjoux 72.
