Description
The Wittnauer Super Compressor 8007 is a classic diving watch from the 1960s. What makes this particular example so special is its excellent condition and the rare JB-Champion stainless steel bracelet, which also comes from the 60s.

The Wittnauer brand was founded in 1885 when the Swiss watch expert Albert Wittnauer, who emigrated to America, produced his first watches in New York. In 1950 Longines bought Wittnauer and had some very similar watch lines under both brand names.

The diving watch offered here has a Super Compressor case, which was designed by Ervin Pequerez. With increasing depth, the case is pressed against the seal and thus waterproofness of the case increases. This watch has two crowns, both bearing a cross hatching pattern, that is typical for many diving watches. The time is set with the crown at 4 o'clock and the inner bezel can be turned with the crown at 2 o'clock.

The excellent condition of this Wittnauer makes it an extremely valuable vintage watch. The dial is absolutely perfect and shows no scratches. The tritium luminescent material features a wonderful creamy color and is evenly aged and intact everywhere. The screwed 36mm stainless steel case has a thick profile. The edges are intact and sharp. This Wittnauer diving watch is accompanied by an extremely rare JB-Champion bracelet. The clasp is signed with the Wittnauer logo. The movement of this Wittnauer is the automatic caliber C11KAS. The watch works flawlessly and ensures accurate time keeping.
