Longines Chronograph 7414 Box and Papers
18ct yellow gold - unpolished case - perfect condition
SoldLongines has a reputation as one of the leading Swiss watchmakers. A significant reason for that are the chronograph movements of the brand, in particular the 30CH flyback movement. The flyback complication allows the chronograph to be restarted immediately by pressing the lower pusher. In contrast, the "conventional" chronograph has to be stopped, reset and started, with time being lost between the laps.
The Longines 7414 offered here dates from 1967 and has an 18k yellow gold case with a snap-on case back. The present example has deep gold hallmarks under the lugs, which speaks for an unpolished case. The edges and chamfers have also remained intact and sharp. The silver dial looks very elegant and has a sunburst finish, which is also preserved intact. There are no scratches or quirks on the dial - an absolute dream condition. The combination of a blue tachymeter and red telemeter scale gives the dial a lively look. The hour markers and hands are made of yellow gold. The winding crown bears the Longines logo.
This Longines is accompanied by the original guarantee book. According to the certificate of origin, which is included in the guarantee book, this watch was sold in May 1972 in Switzerland. There is also an original Longines vintage presentation box (see pictures). These accessories are extremely rare with this model. There is currently no other example with original papers and box known.
From a collector's point of view, this Longines offers all the attributes to be coveted: rarity, unpolished case, excellent dial condition and valuable accessories.
