This vintage Heuer Carrera 3647 dates from the 1960s and is powered by a Valjoux movement. A clean dial and an unpolished case with few scratches result in an honest condition and make this Carrera the perfect watch for everyday use.
The very first Carreras, that were introduced in 1963 were powered by the reliable Valjoux movements. Later in 1969, Heuer developed the automatic caliber 11 and the design of the Carrera was changed. The production of the manual-wind Carreras with the elegant and classic design was discontinued. Therefore, the manual-wind Carreras of the 1960s are very rare vintage watches.
But not only their rarity, but also the "pure" design of these chronographs makes them so popular with watch collectors. For many, the manual-wind Carrera is the exemplary and classic chronograph of the twentieth century. The offered Heuer Carrera 3647 has a silver dial with two sub-dials. The small seconds register is at 9 o'clock and the 45-minute counter is at 3 o'clock. Overall, the dial is in great condition, but shows some spots that are only visible under a loupe. The tritium lume is original and matches the color in dial and hands. The stainless steel case shows natural signs of wear, but at the same time the lugs are sharp indicating the unpolished condition of the watch.
Overall, we can say that this Carrera is preserved in an honest original condition. The Valjoux 92 movement works perfectly. The chronograph starts, stops and resets properly.
This Heuer Carrera is ideal for everyday wear and is also a rare and sought-after vintage model.
