This beautiful Wittnauer Electric is an electric watch from the 1960s. This model is known for its striking thunderbolt hands. The super-rare Longines stainless steel bracelet completes the offer.
The history of Wittnauer dates back to 1872, when the young Swiss immigrant arrived in New York City and already had the skills to manufacture high-quality watches. Albert Wittnauer and his brother found the "A. Wittnauer Company", which manufactured long-lasting reliable watches. Many Wittnauer timepieces accompanied seafarers, explorers and astronomers on their trips.
Here you see the early version of the Wittnauer Electric from the 1960s with white dial. What makes this example so special is the clean condition of the dial and a case with sharp lugs. Obviously, this watch was worn very rarely. The L4750 movement runs perfectly. The winding crown is signed with the Wittnauer logo.
Another special feature of this watch is the extremely rare JB-Champion stainless steel bracelet. It has the Longines logo on the end piece. Longines bought Wittnauer in the 1950s. Therefore, there were similar watches under both brand names, which also explains the Longines logo on the bracelet. This stretch bracelet sits very comfortably on the wrist.
This unique and attractive watch is a real eye-catcher and a reliable companion for a stylish person.
