SoldThe Milgauss is the anti-magnetic wristwatch presented by Rolex in 1956. The main target group were scientists and engineers who operated in environments with high strength magnetic fields. In "normal" mechanical watches magnetism can significantly affect the precision of the movement and damage crucial parts of the watch. The Rolex Milgauss was able to withstand magnetic fields of up to 1,000 Gauss. The model name "Milgauss" came from the combination of the French word "mille" (thousand) and the unit Gauss. The development of the Rolex Milgauss is one of the most important technical milestones in the watch industry.
This particular Rolex Milgauss 1019 dates from 1969 and is original in every single part. The silver dial has evenly distributed patina dots, which are the result of natural aging and beautifully point out the honest condition of this watch. "T SWISS T" inscription under the 6 o'clock mark refers to the luminous material tritium. The lume in hour markers and hands is 100% original and intact.
The stainless steel Oyster case is excellently preserved and has intact lug edges and no scratches. The Rolex Twinlock winding crown is screwed down. Another highlight is the original stainless steel bracelet from 1969 to match the watch. The bracelet is riveted and, like the watch, is in a great overall condition with no significant scratches. The bracelet reference number is 7206, the end links reference is 80. The clasp is stamped 3/69 (third quarter 1969).
The Milgauss is powered by the Rolex perpetual caliber 1580. The movement has been checked by our watchmaker and is in perfect working order.
