Rolex Explorer 14270 Full Set

unpolished case - punched papers - full set

Description
This 90s Rolex Explorer 14270 is accompanied by a full set and is in near-mint condition.

The famous story of Rolex Explorer began in 1953, when climbers Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the top of the Mount Everest for the first time ever. They both had a Rolex Explorer on their wrist. This fact gave the Rolex Explorer a reputation as a robust and reliable tool watch. The elegant design with the iconic 3-6-9 digits provides a great legibility. For many collectors the Rolex Explorer is one of the most beautiful watches of all time.

The reference 14270 was the successor to the reference 1016 and was produced between 1990 and 2000. The present watch dates from 1996. The near-mint condition of this Explorer and the existing full set increase the collector value of this watch. The black dial is absolutely flawless and has white gold bordered markers with Tritium. The green Rolex hologram is still visible on the caseback, which speaks for a barely worn condition. The 36mm Oyster case has never been polished and has only few signs of wear. The watch is equipped with an original sapphire crystal. If we had to find something to complain about this watch, then there is a tiny scratch at 12 o'clock, that is barely visible to the naked eye. We decided to not replace crystal, because we prefer the original crystal and you can wear the watch without any doubt.

Powered by the Caliber 3000 automatic movement, this certified chronometer (COSC) provides excellent time keeping. The Oyster bracelet made of stainless steel has been wonderfully preserved. The bracelet reference is 78790 and the end links 558B. The code in the clasp is Z5.

This Explorer is offered in an original full set. The chronometer certificate is punched with the serial number (T863.xxx) and the country code 170 (Italy). The watch was sold on 27.09.1997 in Laveno, Italy. The green Rolex box has the reference number 68.00.08. The outer carton has the sticker with the correct reference number 14270. Additional accessories such as booklets, leather card holder, calendar and warranty translation are also available.

The understated elegance and unobtrusive look of the Explorer make it one of the most beautiful and popular wristwatches. The excellent condition and the full set of this example meets the needs of every discerning collector.
