The Junghans Olympic is an automatic chronograph that was manufactured for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
The German watch manufacturer Junghans has been present on the market for more than 150 years. The company owes its high reputation within the industry primarily to its innovative, technically advanced solutions. Junghans watches are known for their high precision and reliability. A very important milestone in the history of Junghans watches was the manufacture's nomination as official timekeeper at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. Junghans then presented a new collection, which also includes the Olympic chronograph offered here.
This beautiful watch features the typical retro design of the 1970s, which is very popular with vintage lovers. The anthracite-blue dial changes its color nuances depending on the incidence of light. The inner bezel and the sunken totalizers have a slightly darker shade. The central chrono second hand and the sub-dial hands are orange. The hour and minute hands are white and contain original tritium. At 12 o'clock you can see the Junghans star logo, the manufacturer signature and the model name. A date window is located at 6 o'clock. Overall, the watch has a very harmonious look.
Thanks to its pillow shape, the Olympic sits comfortably on the wrist. The case still has the original sunburst finish on its surface. We believe this watch has never been polished. The Olympic is accompanied by the beautiful retro stainless steel bracelet, which is perfectly preserved to match the watch.
The Olympic is powered by the automatic Junghans 688.13 caliber. The chrono pushers are at 3 o'clock and the winding crown at 9 o'clock. The time keeping is precise, the chronograph works perfectly.
This Junghans Olympic has a flawless dial and a perfect, unpolished case. The excellent condition combined with an interesting history and rarity results in an extremely valuable vintage collector's watch.
