Description
The Movado Super Sub Sea is a very popular and an absolute classic vintage chronograph. This excellently preserved specimen is the reference 206-704-501 and dates from 1968.

The collaboration of Zenith and Movado started in the 1960s. Consequently, they jointly developed chronographs which had a similar design and used the same movements. This particular Movado Super Sub Sea has a similar reverse panda dial like the Zenith A277, but with smaller sub-dials. The movement of both watches is the caliber 146-HP - the last manual wind movement from Zenith-Movado, which was replaced by the automatic El Primero movement. 146-HP is known for its fine mechanical quality, robustness, reliability and accuracy.

This sporty Movado chronograph has a striking reverse panda dial with a high recognition value. Fine design elements such as the integrated tachymeter scale or the large tritium hour markers set up a unique look. But also the dauphine hands and the seconds paddle-hand are eye-catching elements.

The excellent condition of this specimen is a true highlight. You can be sure that the case has never been polished. The extremely sharp edges, the thick case profile and the intact and crisp "SUPER SUB SEA" engraving on the caseback are proving that. The rotating bezel is sharp and perfectly preserved.

The reverse panda dial is immaculately preserved and has original tritium markers that have developed a uniform dark green color due to natural aging. Even the tritium in every single hand is intact and original. The original pearl at 12 o'clock is available. The winding crown and caseback are signed with the correct Movado logo.
