Description
Here you can see the rare Heuer Camaro 7220 chronograph in its most popular version with panda dial and Valjoux 72 movement. The watch is also accompanied by an original Gay-Frères bracelet.

In the late 1960s, Jack Heuer wanted to better position his Swiss watch brand in the USA. Also in the 1960s, Chevrolet presented its new muscle car, the Camaro. The car and its name "Camaro" became very popular in the USA within a very short time. Jack Heuer presented the new Camaro chronograph in 1968, underscoring the close relationship between the brand and motorsport. The unusual Camaro differs from other Heuer chronographs mainly due to the unique cushion shape of the case, which has more bevels and edges than, for example, the Carrera. The Camaro disappears from the Heuer model range in 1972, making it a very rare vintage chronograph. In just four years of production, the Camaro was equipped with different dial designs.

Here we offer you the striking and particularly sough-after Panda version of the Heuer Camaro 7220. Due to the tachymeter scale on the dial, the complete reference is 7220T. The present watch has an unpolished case and a beautifully preserved dial. The tritium lume is original and has a matching vanilla color in the hour dots and hands. The sub-dials developed an honest patina. The unmistakable sunburst pattern on the case is 100% intact. All edges are crisp. The 37mm diameter sounds not very big, but the Camaro stands out on the wrist.

A highlight of this watch is the original double-grain beads of rice bracelet, which is extremely rare. It is light and very comfortable to wear on the wrist. Mechanically, this Camaro belongs to the crème de la crème of chronographs. The movement of this watch is namely the legendary manual-wound caliber Valjoux 72, which Rolex also used for its Daytona.

For us, this Heuer Camaro is one of the most beautiful chronographs that has ever been produced. Due to the rarity and the excellent condition of the example offered here, this extraordinary watch is extremely difficult to replace.
