This super-elegant 1980s Rolex Air-King 5500 has a blue dial and is accompanied by original papers from 1981.

There is probably no vintage watch that is better value for money than the Rolex Air-King. Even if it is the low-priced Rolex model, the quality and durability are of the highest level, as is typical for Rolex. The robust Rolex automatic caliber 1520 delivers precise timekeeping and is known for its durability.

The unique charisma of this Air-King is created thanks to the blue dial and the long creamy hour markers. The dial is in a beautiful and honest original condition. The tritium dots behind all hour markers are original and intact.

The Oyster case has a diameter of 34mm. Compared to the traditional Datejust's 36mm case, the Air-King appears to be smaller. But you hardly notice any difference on the wrist. The balanced dial design and the smooth bezel make for a nice enlarged look. The very well-preserved Oyster bracelet is very comfortable to wear and has only little stretch. Bracelet reference is 78350, the reference of the end pieces is 557 and the code of the clasp is VF. All numbers match this model and the year of manufacture of the watch.

This Air-King qualifies for a valuable collector's watch thanks to the original papers from the 1981. The watch was sold on July 28, 1981 in Rome.
