This is a Rolex Daytona 6263 Big Red with a panda dial, black Bakelite bezel, Valjoux 72 movement and an unpolished case.

The Rolex Daytona, powered by the manual-wound caliber Valjoux 72, is considered the mother of all chronographs. The appealing model name was derived from the famous "Daytona International Speedway" which ensured the perfect connection between the Daytona chronograph and motorsport. Today the Rolex Daytona is one of the icons of vintage watches. It's not surprising that it has become a permanent attraction in today's most renowned watch auctions.

Here we offer you a Rolex Daytona 6263 from 1985 with a stunning panda dial and a black bakelite bezel. Because of the large red "DAYTONA" word above the 12 hour totalizer, this model is also called "Big Red". The dial is beautifully preserved. The only thing worth mentioning is the small flaw near the red letter Y. It is barely visible to the naked eye. Every single tritium plot on the hour marker is original and perfectly preserved.

In our opinion, the oyster case is unpolished. The lugs have sharp edges and show minimal signs of wear. Thanks to the black tachymeter bezel, the Daytona appears big on the wrist. The Oyster bracelet is also beautifully preserved and has only minimal stretch. Bracelet reference is 78350, end links ref. 571, clasp code is H.

The heart of the watch is the robust Valjoux 727 (Valjoux 72) manual-wound movement - an undisputed icon of chronograph movements. This particular watch provides precise time measurement. All chronograph functions operate properly.
