The Heuer Camaro differs from other Heuer models because of its unique case form. Here we offer you a wonderful example from 1969, which has been preserved in an honest unpolished condition.
The Heuer Camaro was presented in 1968. The good-sounding name "Camaro" was supposed to create a connection to the American car Chevrolet Camaro and thus strengthen the company's position on the US watch market. In 1972, the Camaro disappears from the Heuer model range again, which makes it a very rare vintage watch.
This particular Camaro is the reference 7220N with a Valjoux 72 movement and a black dial with three sub-registers. A well-known phenomenon of this Camaro reference is the age-related discoloration of the black dial to a brownish hue. This so-called tropical effect gives the watch a warm look. The white accents are very tastefully chosen and give the watch a harmonious appearance. The dial is in excellent condition and has original tritium in the hands and hour markers.
The cushion-shaped stainless steel case is in beautiful collector's condition. The watch has been worn and has natural signs of wear, but has remained unpolished. The reference and serial numbers are clearly visible between the lugs. The number "72" in the reference number stands for the prominent Valjoux 72 caliber. The manual wound movement works perfectly.
An authentic overall condition, rarity and an attractive appearance on the wrist make this Camaro a valuable collector's item and a beautiful watch to wear.
