This Heuer Carrera 1153N owes its harmonious appearance to the blue metallic dial and pillow-shaped case. This racing chronograph dates from 1975.
Until 1969, the Heuer Carrera chronograph had a round case and was powered by a manual wind movement. In 1969, Heuer introduced the revolutionary automatic chronograph caliber 11. With the new movement, the design of the Carrera was also changed. The new Carrera case was given a cushion shape, the winding crown moved to the left side and new dial variants beautified the chronograph. In the following years other dial versions were produced and the automatic caliber 11 was improved and given the name caliber 12.
The Heuer Carrera offered here is the reference 1153N, which was introduced around 1974. The chronograph has a blue metallic dial that has been preserved in mint condition. You look in vain for scratches, stains or any spots. The white sub-dials are also immaculately preserved. The wide hour markers with original tritium lume are a highlight in themselves. Even the small lume dots at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock are 100% intact.
Thanks to the balanced dial design, the Carrera has a very harmonious appearance. The orange second hand also contributes to the coolness of this chronograph. The white tachymeter scale allows the speed to be read between 60 and 500 units per hour. The date window is at 6 o'clock. On the wrist the Carrera looks sporty and just cool.
The condition of the case of this vintage Carrera is also first class. It is unpolished, the lugs are sharp, the surface finish is intact and the numbers between the lugs are clearly legible. The caliber 12 ensures precise timekeeping. The chronograph starts, stops and resets properly.
