Eterna Chrono 154 FTP Original Bracelet

unpolished case - striking look - stainless steel bracelet

Description
This Eterna Chronograph dates from 1969 and is powered by the legendary caliber Valjoux 72. An original and rare Eterna bracelet accompanies the watch.

Josef Girard and Urs Schild founded the company "Dr. Girard & Schild" in Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1856, which initially produced only watch movements. After a short time, the decision was made to produce complete watches. In 1906 "Eterna" became the new company name. Elegant and small watches were popular until the early 1960s. At the end of the 1960s the trend is being reversed. Large watches with wide bracelets, massive cases and striking dials were what people longed for. The Eterna chronograph offered here embodies exactly that period.

The wine-red tachymeter bezel is probably the trademark of this model. But the dial design is also absolutely unique. The 30-minute counter is white in the middle and surrounded by a ring with blue and black segments. The dial features a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock and a sub-register with running seconds at 9 o'clock.

The stainless steel case has a distinctive cushion shape with beveled edges and an intact sunburst finish. The rare original stainless steel bracelet from the 70s accompanies the watch. The clasp is marked with the Eterna logo. The bracelet is light and sits very comfortably on the wrist.

The great feature and rarity of this chronograph is its excellent condition. The dial is absolutely clean and free of scratches or any spots. All hour markers and hands contain original tritium lume. The condition of the case will also satisfy any discerning collector. The surfaces show minimal signs of wear, but the case has never been polished. This is indicated by sharp edges and the serial number which is still deeply engraved on the case back. The original acrylic crystal still shows the Eterna logo in the middle. The two chronograph pushers are original and integrated into the case. The Eterna is powered by the legendary manual-wound chronograph caliber Valjoux 72-6. The movement has been checked and works perfectly.

This Eterna 154FTP embodies the striking design of the 1970s. Because of its rarity and its wonderful overall condition, it is a highly collectable vintage wristwatch.
