Omega Seamaster 146.011 - Bullhead

extract from the archives - extremely rare

Description
The extraordinary Omega Bullhead from 1970 is one of the rarest vintage watches ever. In the short one year production period, around 600 pieces were made. To this day even less are preserved in such a good condition like this particular watch.

The chronograph has an extravagant appearance thanks to its asymmetrical case shape and the unusual position of the crowns and pushers. At 12 o'clock, the case is thicker and wider, which is why the chronograph is nicknamed "Bullhead". The winding crown and the chrono pushers are positioned at 12 o'clock. The inner bezel can be rotated with the help of the crown at 6 o'clock. The sub-dial with the small seconds is at 6 o'clock and the 30-minute chrono counter is at 12 o'clock. The watch also features a date window at 3 o'clock.

The present example is preserved in a beautiful collector's condition. The stainless steel case shows crisp edges. The original surface finish is also intact. The light brown dial is 100% original including the tritium lume and has a beautiful natural patina. Both crowns are original and bear the Omega logo. The case back is sharply engraved with the Seamaster seahorse symbol. The manual-wound caliber 930 operates perfectly keeping precisely time.

An excerpt from the official OMEGA archive confirms the originality of the watch and complements the collector's set.

The Omega Seamaster 146.011 is a very popular collector's watch. Not only because of its extreme rarity, but also because of its unusual and extravagant look.
