This 1966 Rolex Submariner 5513 has a rare Bart Simpson dial that has aged to a breathtaking tropical patina.

A vital instrument for deep-sea researchers in the 1960s and an absolute icon in watch history: the Rolex Submariner. The long and successful history of this legendary Rolex diving watch delights vintage collectors all over the world.

Here we offer you an exceptional example of the reference 5513 from 1966. A rarity on this watch is the Bart Simpson dial, which was only made in 1965 and 1966. The Rolex coronet on the dial is reminiscent of Bart Simpson's haircut. This particular dial variant was only used temporarily for less than two years and is popular with vintage collectors.

Another special feature of this Rolex Submariner is the tropical dial. The originally black glossy surface became brown over the years. The resulting patina is distributed absolutely evenly over the entire dial. In combination with the faded ghost bezel, an extraordinary vintage look comes up and that makes this 65-year-old absolutely unique.

This Rolex Submariner 5513 is in a very good and honest overall condition. The stainless steel case shows natural signs of wear and a thick profile. The inner case is engraved with the reference number and VI/66. The movement of that Submariner is the automatic caliber 1520, which operates perfectly. The watch was serviced in November 2019 at Rolex, Geneva. The service guarantee card is available.

The watch is accompanied by a riveted Rolex stainless steel bracelet with the reference 7206 and 80s end links. The clasp is stamped 2/64. The bracelet has some stretch, but is overall in very good condition.
