It's really difficult to put into words how beautiful this Universal Genève Tri-Compax is, especially if you look at it in person. The exotic reference 881101/03 has numerous complications and is an extremely rare vintage watch. Less than 20 specimens of this model are known and there is no reason to believe that there are many more.

The Tri-Compax is a chronograph with a full calendar and a moon phase display. The complex mechanical Universal Genève caliber 281 controls multiple functions that appear on the 36mm dial. The date and the moon phase are located in the sub-register at 12. The day of the week and month are displayed in small apertures in German language. The chronograph features a 30-hour counter at 3 o'clock and a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock. The Tri-Compax also has a small sub-register with running seconds at 9 o'clock. Despite a lot of information, the dial is by no means overloaded, but very balanced and harmonious. The white outer ring with blue markings creates a nice contrast.

When it comes to the collector's value of a vintage Universal Genève watch, the presence of the reference and serial number on the case back is one of the most important criteria. Both numbers are clearly recognizable and legible on the bottom of this example. Even the words "STAINLESS STEEL" can still be seen, although it is known that they were engraved originally very subtly back in the 60s. This suggests that this Tri-Compax was very rarely worn and probably never polished. Because even by wearing the watch, engravings usually disappear after more than 50 years.

The dial shows a beautiful patina that reminds us of the high age of this impressive vintage watch. The original tritium lume has become a little darker over the years. The black bezel with the tachymeter scale has natural signs of wear, contributing to the honest and beautiful vintage look of the watch. The original acrylic crystal bears the Universal Genève logo in its center.

The Tri-Compax is accompanied by an original Gay-Frères bracelet from the 1960s. These bracelets are very rare. The clasp is engraved with the UG logo.

On the wrist this exotic Tri-Compax is guaranteed to attract the attention of all watch enthusiasts. An extremely rare vintage wristwatch with a WOW effect.
