This Heuer chronograph owes its nickname to the legendary racing driver Jochen Rindt - the only posthumous Formula 1 world champion. Rindt owned this version of the Heuer Autavia 2446 from 1968 and wore the watch during his races. The "Rindt" Autavia is one of the most popular vintage chronographs not only because of its history, but also thanks to its classic appearance and Valjoux 72 movement.
The outstanding condition of the present example is what makes it so special and rare. The reverse panda dial is in excellent condition and has a beautiful, honest patina in the white sub-dials. The sharp beveled lugs of the stainless steel case are intact. The engravings on the bottom are deep and clearly legible. The tritium lume is original and has never been re-painted.
With its 39mm diameter, the chronograph is the perfect size and thanks to the thin black bezel it looks even bigger on the wrist. The rotating minutes bezel shows natural signs of wear giving the watch an honest vintage look. The crown is original and signed "Heuer".
Another feature that makes this Autavia so interesting for collectors is its movement. The legendary manual-wound caliber Valjoux 72 ensures accurate timekeeping and perfect functioning of the chronograph.
This Jochen Rindt Autavia is a rare vintage watch that is very popular due to its connection to motorsport of the 1970s. The excellent condition makes the chronograph extremely rare and valuable.
