This vintage beauty is the Rolex Daytona 6263 with reverse panda dial from 1979. The manual Daytona is often referred to as the mother of all chronographs and, thanks to its close connection to motorsport, the cosmograph is very beloved and sought-after. Here we offer you the popular execution with a black Bakelite bezel and screw-down pushers. In addition, this Daytona is accompanied by the original box and original brochures.
Despite its great age, this vintage Daytona has been preserved in great overall condition. The matte black surface of the dial is absolutely flawless. The white sub-dials show small patina dots in the sub-dials. The tritium lume in the hour markers and hands is original and intact. Above the 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock you can see the model name "Daytona" in large red letters, which explains the nickname "Big Red Daytona".
The stainless steel Oyster case shows hardly any signs of use. The black Bakelite bezel is in excellent condition, except for the small scratches at 1 o'clock. The bezel shows a tachymeter scale up to 200 units per hour. The large winding crown with the Rolex logo and the chronograph pushers are screwed on. The oyster bracelet is also in great condition and shows hardly any signs of wear. The bracelet reference is 78350, the code in the clasp is VC and the end link reference is 571.
The Rolex Daytona is also very popular thanks to the legendary Valjoux 727 caliber. This manual-wound movement is known for its reliability and robustness.
The Rolex Daytona is one of the icons of vintage watches. The present example has an impressive appearance on the wrist, reliable movement, collectable condition and original accessories.
