Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner 94010 Snowflake

ghost bezel - oyster bracelet - unpolished case

Description
It is a vintage diving watch to fall in love with: the Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner 94010 from 1980 in an unpolished condition, with a blue dial, blue faded ghost bezel and beloved snowflake hands.

In 1954, Tudor introduced its first diving watch, which was equipped with the Rolex-Mercedes hands and looked very similar to the Rolex Submariner. The first step in the direction of independent design followed in 1969 when Tudor introduced the reference 7021 and 7016 with Snowflake hands. These models were in production until the mid-1970s and were replaced by the reference 94010 and 94110. The nickname Snowflake is due to the special shape of the hour hand. The diamond shape of the second hand is also associated with the term snowflake.

In addition to the blue version, which you can see here, there was also a black Tudor Submariner 94010. The blue version is more sought-after by collectors though, because you won't find a blue dial in combination with a blue bezel on vintage Rolex watches. That makes the blue Tudor Submariner even more unique. Tudor used the snowflake hands on its diving watches until the mid-1980s when they disappeared completely. The snowflake hands were arguably the most important distinct design feature that was exclusive to Tudor. It is not for nothing that they are still used today, around 50 years later, for Tudor's Black Bay models.

This particular Tudor Submariner 94010 dates from 1980 and has a unique vintage look thanks to its faded ghost bezel. The blue dial is absolutely flawless. The large rectangular indexes filled with original tritium contribute to a great legibility. Of course, the tritium in the hands is also original. The Oyster case is unpolished and has sharp lugs. The deep engravings can be seen on the case back: "Original Oyster Case By Rolex Geneva". The watch is powered by the ETA automatic caliber 2776, which features a stop-seconds function. The time is set using a Rolex triplock crown. The watch is accompanied by the original Oyster stainless steel bracelet, which has been preserved in very good condition.

This Tudor Submariner has features that will satisfy even the most discerning collector: excellent collectible condition, high quality Rolex parts, reliable movement and a distinctive look.
